Winter is the time to buy SWIMSUITS!

I know none of us even want to think about getting in a swimsuit, but you should definitely think about buying one! Victoria's Secret is having up to 70% off of their swimsuits plus an extra 20% with the code 20SAND.  I'm glad I held out for these 2 swimsuits, because I saved $85 yesterday! Here's what I got:

Obsession with Sweater Dresses

I know I feature sweater dresses a lot, but let's face it, it's because they're awesome. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. I've had my eye on this one for a while and finally decided to share it with y'all despite my attempt at non-repetitive posts. I hope it was worth it!

Christmas Eve Outfit

Because nobody wants to see a button pop off of your jeans, wear something with a little extra room during the holidays.  A bigger sweater over tights is not only practical, but also adorable.  Add a thin belt and a dainty necklace to polish off the look.  Try some awesome heels (like so) if your celebration is dressier, or lounge around in this outfit and flat boots to suit a more casual occasion.
**PS-This ENTIRE outfit is under $100

Mix and Match

Just because the weather forces you to pile on the layers doesn't mean it should weigh down your sense of style.  Brighten up an over-sized ivory sweater with a quirky summer necklace and set off the look with contrasting tights.  Slip on these moccasins to counteract the fancy jewelry and give this more of a casual look.

One Shirt, Three Outfits

There are so many different ways to wear a button down. While trying this one on at Old Navy, I was able to create 3 unique outfits. For the first look, switch out the boots for a pair of sparkly pumps, throw on a blazer and be the envy of all at that dreaded holiday party. With the second number, keep it edgy by slipping on a rugged leather jacket and biker boots.  The third option is ready to go with a cozy maxi sweater dress and the shirt worn as a jacket.

Add a Little Sparkle

I am a huge advocate for sparkle, so as soon as I spotted this little number I knew I had to feature it!  One of my favorite combos is pairing a fun, flirty top with dark jeans and rugged boots.  You can almost NEVER go wrong with this look! Throw on your favorite chunky cardigan during the day, or add a sleek blazer to wear this look late into the night.

Colors of Fall

Fall is officially here!  The easiest way to transition your summer skirts into fall is to add tights and a scarf.  I chose this bright skirt and muted top, tights and booties.  Add a chunky scarf with a pop of color (matching or contrasting) and throw on a cardigan if it's a little chillier than usual!

Dressing Down Sequins

We all have at least one sequin drenched frock that only gets attention on New Years.  Luckily, sequins aren't just for holiday parties anymore.  In fact, you can even do sequins during the day now! Be bold and try mixing a few different textures.  For this particular look, I incorporated sequins, knit, and stripes. It's just the right amount of each to make this style work!

The Slouchy Shirt

There's a right way and a wrong way to wear slouchy clothing.  The wrong way is by wearing two baggy items simultaneously.  If you're going to keep your shirt looser, wear something fitted on the bottom.  The same rule applies for flowy skirts or wide leg pants; show off your figure by wearing a body skimming shirt.  When you wear something too billowy all over, you will repel all of the boys and give off the "I think I'm fat" vibe.  Never good.

*Tuck the shirt in for a clean look, or leave it 1/2 untucked to say to people "I'm cool and can pull this off.  Jealous?"

Red, Red Wine

Instead of wearing the color in your dress and shoes while keeping your tights nude, try inverting the colors!  It's always fun to go for that shock effect and wear the unexpected.  I found this lovely dress and decided to build an entire outfit around it.  This rich wine color is a wonderful choice for fall, but navy or dark green would also be stunning.  It's very easy to take this concept and run with it, so be bold and make it your own!

How to shop for fall

With jeans, coats and boots to purchase, you can quickly put a dent in your bank account.  Instead of racking up credit card debt and a closet full of mediocre fashion, have a plan before pulling out the plastic. Rather than needing a new wardrobe every time it drops below 70, BUY CLOTHES THAT WILL LAST! Don't feel guilty spending a little more money on something that will stand the test of time.  Spending $100 on a well-made coat makes more sense than buying 3 cheap ones that will last you a wear or two and never quite fit right.   The same goes for boots and jeans.  From experience, shelling out an extra $50 initially could save you hundreds in the future.  If you can acquire a bit of patience and save your money for the right finds,  it will pay off. (Figuratively and literally!) Here are a few timeless, sturdy items that won't let you down over the years:
